Southeast Asian Market
Seasonal weekend market in FDR Park with more than 70 regular vendors offering food and goods connected to Southeast Asian communities.
About Southeast Asian Market
Southeast Asian Market occupies a section of Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park at 1500 Pattison Avenue and South Broad Street in Philadelphia. It is an independent outdoor fair run by the Vendors Association of FDR Park, not a covered market with shops open all week. Its regular seasonal days are Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the organization lists October 31 as the final day of the 2026 season. For July through October, the map places stalls at Picnic Area 11, across from Taney Baseball Field and Lake Meadow.
The association lists more than 70 regular vendors and also hosts temporary pop-ups. Its food reflects Cambodian, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese traditions: grilled meats and skewers, satay, papaya salads, sesame sweets, sugarcane juice, and fresh produce are examples documented by Philadelphia’s tourism guide, not a permanent guaranteed menu. Plants, clothing, and jewelry may also appear. The market posts maps and vendor lists; check them because both the lineup and location can change within the park.
The visit combines shopping with a picnic, with limited tables and broad grassy areas. The organizer recommends cash because mobile service can be unreliable and there is no ATM; each stall decides whether to take cards or digital payments. During the season, guided activities are available, including private bilingual tours for groups under their own terms. The FAQ warns that Eagles games can close the market, explains parking rules, and prohibits parking on grass or in the bike lane. Google reviews repeatedly praise the food and diversity; visitors with allergies or dietary restrictions need to ask each vendor because the association cannot confirm every ingredient.
