About The Breakers Palm Beach

The Breakers Palm Beach, a historic oceanfront resort in Palm Beach

The Breakers Palm Beach is a resort located on the oceanfront in Palm Beach, Florida. Its origins date back to 1896, when industrialist Henry M. Flagler drove the construction of grand hotels on the island. After two fires, in 1903 and 1925, the property was rebuilt and reopened in 1926 with a design inspired by the Villa Medici in Rome, by the architects Shultze and Weaver. To complete the work, 75 Italian artisans were brought in to create the paintings and details on the ceilings of the 200-foot-long main lobby and the first-floor public rooms, which are still preserved today.
