About South Orlando Soccer Club
South Orlando Soccer Club grew out of a neighborhood project: Conway residents established the nonprofit in 2006 to give South Orlando families a place to learn and play. Its recreational division is built for a broad range of experience, from first-time players age 3 through middle-school students. In Fall 2026, the posted fee is $225 and includes a weekly professional-led Coerver skills session, game and training jerseys, socks and shorts. Shin guards and a practice ball are required; cleats are recommended but optional.
The two practice bases are Barber Park, 3701 Gatlin Avenue, and Young Pine Park, 5201 Young Pine Road. Saturday games for both groups are played at Barber, so families who practice at Young Pine still need to plan the weekly trip across the southeast Orlando area. Most teams practice on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, but the coach assigns actual days after rosters form. The fall season began September 26 and is scheduled to finish November 14; October 31 is listed for the club’s Pumpkin Matches. Ask whether a new player can still be placed in the current group or should wait for the next registration window.
For a child ready for more structure, SOSC also operates competitive teams for boys and girls ages 8–19, a developmental bridge team for recreational players preparing for that step, and higher-level programs that include ECNL Regional League and premier competition. Evaluation and tryouts determine placement; those commitments and fees differ from the $225 recreational season. The club’s current registration page separates Barber and Young Pine sign-ups. Check the age cutoff, training location, equipment list and full cost before choosing a team, especially if the family is comparing a casual Saturday season with year-round competitive play.
