About Valencia College — School of Public Safety

Valencia’s School of Public Safety, Legal Studies, and Education is based at 8600 Valencia College Lane in east Orlando, near the East Campus. It brings together academic degrees and professional training for first responders and public-service careers. The official program directory includes Criminal Justice A.S., Fire Science Technology A.S., the Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration, emergency medical services, fire rescue and safety training. Programs may include state certification, field work or separate start dates. This campus is the school’s main site, while Valencia’s map lists additional training at partner campuses and a separate Fire Training Facility.

The school’s campus map identifies classrooms, a cafeteria, auditorium, administration and continuing-education offices, a parking lot and a K-9 training area; it also marks a fitness trail. Those facilities are specific to this campus and should not be assumed at every Valencia location. The college’s general transportation page says accepted students can apply for a free parking decal outside Downtown, with no guaranteed space, and LYNX serves stops near its campuses. The profile’s Google route points to Valencia College Lane; class and academy schedules may use another location listed on the school’s current training map.

The school is a route for people already drawn to public safety, not just a general criminal-justice classroom. Its Criminal Justice Institute provides academy and advanced instruction for law enforcement, corrections and related roles; EMS prepares students for EMT and paramedic certification; and the Fire Rescue Institute trains firefighters and emergency-services personnel. The A.S. degrees are credit-bearing academic programs, while academy or continuing-education blocks can have separate admission, fitness, background and certification standards. Ask the program advisor which track matches your goal and which credits can count toward an associate degree.

Valencia’s “Two for All” initiative can award college credit for eligible prior public-safety training and certification, which may shorten the remaining path to an A.S. degree. The college still requires an application and program review, and credit awards depend on documented credentials. Financial aid generally requires an aid-eligible degree or technical certificate and FAFSA; short academy courses are not automatically eligible. A prospective student should contact the school’s program advisor before paying for a course or traveling to the main building, especially when the training map names a fire facility or partner campus.
