Southern Pool Designs: luxury pool construction in Central Florida

Southern Pool Designs is a custom pool construction company based in Central Florida that has been operating since 1997. Its work encompasses the design, engineering, permitting, and construction of residential and commercial pools, as well as spas, fountains, and other water features. The company presents itself as a certified pool contractor (CPC1461548) for commercial and residential projects, and states it has surpassed $100 million in luxury pool projects built.

Integrated design and engineering

The service is structured as a design-build process with an in-house team. The company combines custom design and in-house engineering to develop pools, spas, and water features. Among the capabilities it lists are custom pool design, residential and commercial pool construction, full rip & replace of existing pools, installation of spillover spas, fountains, and other water features, pool automation and related technology, and ongoing maintenance.

Work process

The company's described method is organized into three stages. The first is an initial call to learn the client's vision, review inspiration, timelines, and budget, and confirm that the project fits the builder's profile. The second is an on-site design consultation, using laser scanning technology to map the property and ensure the pool integrates with the home; at this stage, a design deposit is paid, which is applied to the project and provides access to custom plans, 3D renderings, finish selections, and engineering. The third is a showroom session called the Signature Experience, where the design and finishes are finalized, a detailed proposal is delivered, and the contract is signed; from there, the in-house permitting and engineering team prepares for construction to begin.

Client profile and projects

The company serves private homeowners in Central Florida as well as developers and builders. For the former, the catalog ranges from family pools to infinity edge pools. For the latter, it builds commercial-grade pools for hotels, clubs, and amenity centers. The company states that it is selective about the projects it accepts and aims to provide personalized service.
