About INSHUR
INSHUR: commercial auto insurance for the on-demand economy
INSHUR is a digital insurance platform specializing in embedded commercial auto insurance for the on-demand economy. It operates in the United States, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, and offers online coverage for drivers on mobility, delivery, and transportation platforms. The company presents itself as a global provider of embedded insurance and states that it has an award-winning digital platform and market expertise in this segment.
Origins and evolution
The INSHUR story begins in 2016 in New York, driven by Dan Bratshpis, who, coming from an immigrant family with several cab drivers, observed how the rise of Uber and Lyft was transforming the taxi industry and identified that purchasing commercial auto insurance remained a traditional process, with complex paperwork and in-person requirements. Together with co-founder David Daiches, he developed the first version of INSHUR to offer these drivers a more transparent and flexible way to obtain the right coverage.
