About Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

The Jackie Robinson Foundation combines financial assistance with guidance for students planning to attend a four-year college. Its 2026–27 application opened September 1, 2026, and is due January 14, 2027; the application, recommendation, and CSS Profile must be submitted by 5 p.m. Eastern Time. It is intended for graduating seniors who are U.S. citizens, demonstrate financial need, and show academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

Beyond the form, the application requires school information, transcripts, college plans, ACT or SAT scores, activities, household information, and three short essays. The Foundation assesses need case by case, so families should not rule themselves out simply because their income differs from someone else’s example. It also provides career guidance and college-transition support; read the actual service terms before comparing its value with other scholarships.

Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college approved by JRF and must not have earned more than 25% of the credits required for a bachelor’s degree. Being an athlete is not required; the Foundation explicitly rejects that misconception. Request the recommendation early, keep a transcript copy, and check the portal after submission: an application is incomplete while any component is missing.
