Jackson Heights Greenmarket
A Sunday Queens flagship where regional growers and makers meet residents on 79th Street.
About Jackson Heights Greenmarket
Jackson Heights Greenmarket takes over 79th Street between 34th Avenue and Northern Boulevard every Sunday. GrowNYC identifies it as the Queens flagship and says it has connected local farms and farmers with neighborhood residents since 2000. Its open-air street location makes the market part of the district’s regular weekend rhythm rather than a destination inside a shopping complex.
The market is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The producer list is updated for each market day and can include pasture-raised poultry, meat and eggs, wild-caught fish and shellfish, maple products, baked goods, vegetables and other regional foods. Accepted currencies listed by GrowNYC include cash, debit and credit, SNAP/EBT, FMNP, FreshConnect, Health Bucks and Greenmarket Bucks, plus Healthfirst OTC on select plans. SNAP users receive a $2 Health Buck for each $2 spent, up to $10 daily. Check the Sunday vendor page for the current selection and use the exact block in your route search.
The year-round market’s current producer list spans vegetables, meat, seafood, baked goods and specialty foods; cash, debit, credit and multiple food-access benefits are listed.
