Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket

A year-round Brooklyn Saturday market at Prospect Park’s northwest entrance, serving several surrounding neighborhoods.

About Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket

Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket sits at the northwest entrance to Prospect Park, at Prospect Park West and Flatbush Avenue. GrowNYC says the Brooklyn flagship has connected regional farms with nearby residents since 1989. Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Prospect Lefferts Gardens are among the neighborhoods the organizer names as part of its catchment.

It operates every Saturday, year-round, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The current producer list can include vegetables and pork, bread and pastries, cheese, meat, seafood and other regional products; the roster changes by market day. GrowNYC lists cash, debit and credit, SNAP/EBT, the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, FreshConnect, Health Bucks, Greenmarket Bucks and select Healthfirst OTC plans. A $2 SNAP purchase earns $2 in Health Bucks, up to $10 daily. The market is also a short walk from the Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Garden, but check the live map if you plan around a particular stall.

In brief

GrowNYC lists regional farm products and rotating weekly producers; cash, cards, SNAP/EBT, FMNP, FreshConnect and other listed benefit currencies are accepted, with SNAP matching.
