The Celestine is a boutique hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans, in a building dating back to 1791. The property, spearheaded by hotelier Robért LeBlanc in collaboration with Neal Bodenheimer of Cure Co and the team behind The Chloe hotel in the Garden District, marks the first venture in this historic neighborhood for its promoters. The design was handled by Sara Ruffin Costello and blends French, Spanish, and Afro-Caribbean influences with a touch of 1950s glamour.

Rooms and spaces

The hotel has 14 European-style rooms, each with antique furnishings, four-poster beds, custom linens, and private balconies overlooking Toulouse Street or the tropical gardens. The rooms incorporate calming patterns and curated antiques, plus a personalized in-room bar in each room. The building features romantic balconies and a courtyard with a preserved fountain.

Peychaud's and cocktail culture

The hotel occupies what was the residence of Antoine Amadee Peychaud, creator of Peychaud's Bitters, a key ingredient in nearly all classic New Orleans cocktails. Hence the name of its bar, Peychaud's. The property invites guests to enjoy classic New Orleans cocktails at the bar or in the courtyard, and offers in-room personalized bars with recipes, ingredients, and tools to make their own cocktails. Programming includes cocktail classes.

The historic charm of the building and its courtyard make it possible to host intimate weddings, private dinners, and gatherings in the timeless style of the French Quarter.

The Celestine has received a MICHELIN Key and has been recognized for excellence two years in a row, as well as being named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2024 Hot List as one of the best new hotels in the world.
