Delgado Community College — Sidney Collier Site

The Sidney Collier Site is in the Desire neighborhood near New Orleans East, at 3727 Louisa Street. Delgado says the earlier campus there was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and that the current site reopened on August 29, 2014. Its scale and purpose differ from City Park: the published program list centers on practical nursing, architectural and residential construction, commercial and residential electrical work, computer-aided drafting, barbering, cosmetology and esthetics. Ask the program office about prerequisites, clinical or lab schedules and whether a course is offered in the coming term.

Support services are unusually visible in the site’s own directory. It lists advising, an Answer Center and financial-aid help, the bursar, campus police and ID services, a food pantry, library, student government, Single Stop, testing and TRiO student support. The page also includes a cosmetology classroom image and links to a site tour. These services can make Sidney Collier a convenient place to handle several student tasks close to classes, but service availability and walk-in hours should be checked before visiting.

The official directions page gives the street address and links to a campus map and route planner. Delgado’s general parking policy applies here: vehicles on site must be registered and carry a valid permit. The college’s institution-wide social-media directory links the social channels shown on this profile. Because the site reopened after a major disruption and now serves a distinct neighborhood, check that the program, advising appointment or testing session you need is specifically scheduled at Sidney Collier rather than assuming another Delgado office can handle it.
