Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve introduces the region through its native plants. Located in the Pidcock Creek valley outside central New Hope, the institution maintains a living collection across woods, meadows, streams and ponds. More than 700 native plant species are represented, making the landscape a place for observation and conservation education as well as walking.

The visitor experience changes with the season. Guided walks and classes can help explain relationships between plants, pollinators and habitat, while the native-plant nursery extends that work to home gardening. A particular flower or nursery item should be treated as seasonal availability, rather than a permanent feature promised on every visit.

Comfort and access deserve attention before choosing a route. The visitor center's main floor, restrooms and parking are accessible; gravel paths connect with a paved pedestrian road. The preserve also offers guided Access Cart Tours by advance reservation. The vehicle does not accommodate fixed wheelchairs or have a lift, so passengers must be able to transfer independently or with their companion's assistance.

The published calendar opens daily from April through June and closes on Tuesdays from July through March, with additional holiday closures. Last admission is at 4 p.m. and the grounds close at 5 p.m. The preserve has no food concession, although the visitor center sells water and a limited selection of snacks. A visit works best when the season, route and access arrangements are considered together.
