Founding team

The center was co-founded by Dr. Megan Brennard and Dr. Seema Awatramani, both board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Brennard is co-medical director and completed her Pediatrics residency and her Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, within the Children's of Alabama hospital system. Dr. Awatramani is co-director of operations and business; she completed her fellowship at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and her Pediatrics residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. In 2018 she opened an UrgiKids Pediatric Urgent Care center in Naperville, which she sold in 2020 to a national pediatric urgent care company, and since then she has been involved in opening two additional clinics. She also hosts a medical radio show called "On Call for Kids" on SIRIUS XM's Doctor Radio, channel 110.

The company presents itself as one of the few women-owned urgent care centers in the United States and notes that it works in coordination with the patient's regular pediatrician to maintain continuity of care.
