About Moorpark College — Main Campus
Moorpark College opened in 1967 on a hillside campus in eastern Ventura County. Its 7075 Campus Road address includes academic buildings, student services, the library and athletic facilities. A campus map matters here: the site is spread across upper, lower and west areas, and the college warns that automated directions may leave visitors at the wrong side of the property.
The college offers more than 75 fields of study, including transfer pathways, biotechnology, nursing, engineering and design, public services, business and education. Its Exotic Animal Training and Management program is a distinctive associate-degree route linked to America’s Teaching Zoo. Credentials vary: associate degrees commonly require about 60 units and two years full time, while selective programs and prerequisites affect completion.
New applicants use the VCCCD application, then follow Moorpark’s orientation, placement, counseling and registration steps. Specialized programs such as nursing and Exotic Animal Training and Management have their own entry criteria. Admissions and Records and Financial Aid are both in Fountain Hall, making a first campus visit useful for checking documents and planning a schedule.
California residents pay $46 per unit for standard credit classes under the published 2026–27 schedule. Nonresident tuition and other fees add to the bill; upper-division coursework in Moorpark’s bachelor’s program adds $84 per unit to the base amount. FAFSA, CADAA, the California College Promise Grant and Moorpark Promise support may reduce costs for eligible students.
Moorpark’s English offerings separate everyday language learning from academic preparation. General ESL includes tuition-free eight-week noncredit courses focused on speaking, reading and writing for work and daily life; academic ESL prepares students for college coursework. Noncredit study does not award college units, while credit ESL costs $46 per unit for California residents and may fit a degree plan.
The college’s campus map places the library and tutoring center, health services, ACCESS disability support, counseling, Raider Central basic-needs services, child development center, gym, stadium and America’s Teaching Zoo. Weekday parking requires a virtual permit; visitor rules and fees should be checked before driving. The zoo operates as a public campus attraction under its own schedule.
Use Moorpark’s admissions page, read current fees and review the ESL options before choosing a course sequence.
