Metro Meals on Wheels — Minneapolis

Metro Meals on Wheels is not one kitchen delivering to every address; it is a network of neighbourhood programmes across the Twin Cities. Its search tool asks for a ZIP code and routes the household to the provider serving that area. The coordinating office is at 1200 Washington Avenue South, Suite 380, Minneapolis, and the general number is 612-623-3363. Local delivery and admission rules vary, so the useful first step is to enter the full home ZIP code.

The network offers different meal options and says it aims to serve neighbours regardless of their ability to pay; the local provider confirms menus, frequency, suggested contributions, and whether special diets are available. Minneapolis coverage can be very specific: Eastside Meals on Wheels, for example, names particular neighbourhoods and ZIP codes, delivers noon meals Monday to Friday, and publishes a suggested donation per meal. Those details should not be applied to other providers or counties.

When calling for a relative, ask whether the provider offers hot daily or frozen weekly meals, whether drivers conduct a wellness check, and what happens if a recipient does not answer the door. The network search identifies a local partner; it does not replace that provider’s assessment or confirm a start date. The same search can identify another Twin Cities programme when an address falls outside Minneapolis. Metro Meals on Wheels also lists volunteer opportunities and contacts for care professionals.
