Milwaukee Area Technical College — Downtown Milwaukee Campus

The Downtown Campus spans four blocks in Milwaukee’s Westown neighborhood. Skywalks connect its buildings, making it easier to move between classes and services when weather changes. MATC places the campus near Fiserv Forum and the Deer District; the address for arrival is 700 W State Street.

A broad share of MATC’s catalog is based here: nursing and health professions, technology, design and media, culinary arts, business, science and skilled trades. Programs listed for the campus include registered nursing, dental hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, culinary arts, animation, welding and software development. Program length and credits follow each academic plan, so check the catalog before selecting courses.

MATC says more than half a dozen Milwaukee County Transit System routes serve the campus, which also has several downtown parking options. Students with a permit can use designated discounted parking; visitors should check the instructions for the particular lot. A college shuttle connects Downtown with Walker’s Square and Westown Green student apartments. The central location can make a campus visit easier to combine with other errands, but confirm which building hosts a class or appointment.
