SidelineSwap

SidelineSwap, online marketplace for used sports gear

SidelineSwap is an online buying and selling platform aimed at athletes, where new and used items from disciplines such as hockey, baseball, lacrosse, golf, softball, skiing, football, snowboarding, and tennis, among others, are listed. The company presents itself as a trusted marketplace for athletes and states that every transaction is covered by buyer protection: if the item does not arrive or does not match the description, the platform steps in.

The site shows thousands of listings posted daily by sellers and allows buyers to contact them directly to resolve questions before purchasing a product. The company reports more than five million items sold and more than two million athletes who have used the platform, and declares a 4.9 rating on the App Store.

How buying and selling works

The platform allows you to list an item in just a few minutes and, when it sells, provides a prepaid shipping label. For buyers, the catalog includes both used gear and new and clearance products, with discounts the company advertises of up to 70% in certain categories.

Sellers have several payout options: direct bank transfer, Venmo, or a store gift card. In addition, the company offers no-questions-asked returns on any purchase, in collaboration with Seel, and a support service available 24 hours a day.

Drop-off at partner stores

In addition to postal shipping, SidelineSwap offers drop-off of gear at partner stores: the seller can leave it at a participating location and receive payment instantly. The site shows drop-off points in Miami, Florida, linked to the Dick's Sporting Goods chain, located at various distances within the city.

The catalog is organized by discipline and by type of item. The main categories include:

• Hockey: sticks, skates for different ages and levels, gloves, goalie gear, helmets, protective gear, bags, and starter kits.

Featured items and brands

Among the products the site presents as examples of best sellers are Bauer Vapor hockey skates, the Louisville Slugger Meta bat, a Callaway driver, and an STX lacrosse head. The baseball bat catalog includes references from brands such as Warstic, Louisville Slugger, Rawlings, Marucci, Easton, and DeMarini, and in football helmets, models from Riddell and Schutt appear.

Commitment to accessibility and sustainability

The company states that its activity seeks to make playing sports more affordable and, at the same time, prevent gear from ending up in landfills. SidelineSwap, Inc. is listed as the company that owns the platform.
