About Miami Dade College — Padrón Campus

Padrón Campus is in Little Havana, and its academic identity links language, education, and community. It houses the School of Education, Dual Language Honors College, and Translation and Interpretation Studies, alongside business, accounting, information technology, transfer, and pre-nursing coursework. It is MDC’s most directly documented home for the EAP program.

For students building academic English, EAP is organized into six levels and teaches speaking/listening, reading, writing, and grammar. Placement is based on ACCUPLACER ESL; the traditional option runs 16 weeks in fall and spring and 12 weeks in summer. It is not a generic crash course: students advance according to placement and program requirements.

The campus advertises flexible schedules, including evening and weekend classes, and publishes separate contacts for Admissions, advising, financial aid, and the library. Confirm which office handles your question and where your class meets before making the trip. MDC’s online campus tour helps visitors get oriented in Little Havana.

In brief
