About The Setai Miami Beach

The Setai Miami Beach: luxury oceanfront hotel on Collins Avenue

The Setai Miami Beach is a luxury hotel located at 2001 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida. It occupies a stretch of prime beachfront and presents itself as an Asian-inspired retreat that blends Art Deco heritage with a contemporary approach. The main building, in Asian Art Deco style, was designed by architect Henry Hohauser and originally opened in 1937 as the Dempsey-Vanderbilt hotel. The lobby retains a recovered pavement transported brick by brick from the Old City of Shanghai, and the interior design is by Jean-Michel Gathy.

Accommodation: Art Deco Suites and Ocean Suites

The hotel divides its accommodation offering into two main categories. The Art Deco Suites are characterized by clean lines, teak wood, and natural textures, with dramatic accents that pay homage to the Asian Art Deco aesthetic. The Ocean Suites offer unobstructed ocean views, including unobstructed sunrises, and personalized Asian-inspired service. In-room amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi and Apple TV.

Restaurants and culinary offerings

The hotel's dining offering is built around four concepts. Japón is a newly opened contemporary Japanese restaurant with indoor dining, a private room, and an outdoor courtyard. Jaya brings South Asian flavors to life—Indian, Chinese, Thai, and Balinese cuisine—in an indoor dining room and courtyard. Ocean Grill focuses on Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, with grilled meats and fresh seafood in an oceanfront setting. Jo's Bar, recently reimagined and located between Jaya and Japón, offers a curated selection of cocktails and food in an elevated ambiance. The hotel also serves Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Valmont Spa and wellness

The Valmont Spa offers spa treatments and allows guests to request an appointment in advance. Wellness facilities include state-of-the-art Finnish saunas and a cold plunge tub, as well as an on-site gym.

Pools, beach, and common areas

The hotel has three temperature-controlled infinity pools, oriented from east to west to capture sunrises and sunsets. Each has a different temperature: a 75-degree lap pool, an 85-degree center pool, and a 90-degree family pool. Sixteen new cabanas surround the pools. On the beach, guests have access to full-service day beds, including drinks and light bites. The courtyard, with dark wood pergolas and a serenity pond, serves as a relaxing space during the day and a social and dining gathering spot at night.

Events, meetings, and additional services

The hotel has spaces for meetings and events, with the option to request information. Services and facilities include an on-site art gallery and shops, Les Clefs d'Or concierge service—with Maite Foriasky as chief concierge and member of the international association—valet parking, two universal electric vehicle chargers and two Tesla chargers, a fleet of custom The Setai by Republic bicycles, and Twin Palms bath amenities. The hotel is part of the Setai group, which has other properties in St. Maarten, Tel Aviv, and the Sea of Galilee.
