Our Youth Memphis Scholarship
The first cost of an educational transition may be a book, an orientation fee, or transportation to campus—not only tuition. Our Youth Memphis offers a local one-time scholarship for students in Memphis’s high-school Class of 2027. Awards for this cycle are listed in varying amounts up to $250; there is no minimum GPA or ACT score. It is modest compared with total college costs, but the organization identifies a broad range of eligible education expenses.
About Our Youth Memphis Scholarship
The first cost of an educational transition may be a book, an orientation fee, or transportation to campus—not only tuition. Our Youth Memphis offers a local one-time scholarship for students in Memphis’s high-school Class of 2027. Awards for this cycle are listed in varying amounts up to $250; there is no minimum GPA or ACT score. It is modest compared with total college costs, but the organization identifies a broad range of eligible education expenses.
To apply, a student must be a high-school senior in the Class of 2027 and live in Memphis when applying. They must also be accepted to a college, community college, trade school, or certification program, begin during the 2027–28 academic year, and provide proof of acceptance or enrollment within 14 days of notification. Once that proof is received, the organization says funds are issued within up to 30 days. Each student may receive only one OYM scholarship.
The 2027 application opened in September 2026 and closes January 1, 2027; recipients are expected to be announced in March. Funds may go toward tuition, books, supplies, orientation, housing, transportation, testing, or professional development, but must be used for education-related expenses. The application requests permission to share selected students’ names, photos, and schools. Do not confuse this scholarship with the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, a separate organization with its own funds and calendar.
To compare this benefit with other options, ask financial aid for an estimate separating tuition, fees, housing, and excluded expenses. Confirm whether it can renew, what academic progress it requires, and whom to contact if payment does not appear on the account. Keep award letters and receipts until the school confirms disbursement.
