About American River College — Mather Center
Mather Center is American River College’s specialized site for two transportation trades: automotive collision repair and diesel technology. Hands-on work is central: students study vehicle systems, structural repair, refinishing, engines, hydraulics and electrical systems. The college also prepares students for industry certification exams.
Programs lead to associate degrees and certificates, and classes may run in five-, eight- or 16-week formats depending on the course. The center highlights ASE-certified instructors and programs, plus I-CAR certification for collision repair. Los Rios per-unit fees apply here as at the other colleges, with additional tuition for nonresidents. Confirm the current course schedule before making the trip.
This is a workshop-based site rather than a general student-services office: its purpose is instruction with specialized equipment. Courses and certifications vary by term, so check prerequisites, format and dates with ARC before estimating how long a credential will take.
