About Massachusetts In-Demand Scholarship

In-Demand is a Massachusetts scholarship for undergraduate or graduate students at a public two- or four-year state institution in a programme identified as a high-demand occupation. The Board of Higher Education sets the rules and each school verifies that the student and academic programme qualify.

The award may cover tuition and fees plus $1,200 for books and supplies per term, although values can be adjusted based on appropriations. Guidelines set duration limits by degree level and enrolment; summer support is separate and depends on leftover funds. It is not a universal cash deposit without review of cost and the rest of the aid package.

Eligibility includes one year of Massachusetts residency, annual FAFSA or MASFA, an approved programme and academic code, at least a 3.0 GPA, and satisfactory progress. The campus financial-aid office is the first contact for programme codes, documents, and deadlines. OSFA lists 617-391-6070 and 135 Santilli Highway, Everett; use its current page to avoid confusing In-Demand with the separate High Demand programme, which has no new funding.

Who it serves and what it can cover: May cover tuition and fees plus $1,200 for books/supplies per term, subject to funding. Requires an approved in-demand programme, one-year state residency, FAFSA/MASFA, 3.0 GPA, satisfactory progress, and campus verification.

How to apply or get help: The 2026–27 guidelines took effect August 1, 2026. Confirm your campus deadline with financial aid and in MASSAid; OSFA is at 617-391-6070. For case-specific questions, contact the program or financial-aid office named on its official page.
