The partnership includes UPS, the University of Louisville, Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville Metro, and Kentucky. It covers undergraduate study only at UofL or JCTC, and requires college and program admission plus work-date compliance.
The program pays undergraduate tuition at the Kentucky-resident rate for fall, spring, and summer. Tuition may be deferred if the participant signs the semester agreement before the payment deadline; UPS pays half, with the other half coordinated through state/federal grants or the program. The benefit does not automatically remove out-of-state differences, winter courses, housing, meal plans, lab, health, parking, or other institutional fees.
Before enrolling, verify the UPS position, campus, shift, hire-by date, and semester work commitment. You must remain actively employed through the stated date and earn an eligible grade; leaving before then may make you responsible for tuition already incurred. Metropolitan College requires FAFSA each year. Employees unable to file FAFSA can check Earn and Learn, a separate UPS benefit.
Hire-by dates vary by term; for fall 2026 the current page moves the date to September 30 and requires employment through December 31. If you start after the deadline, you may have to pay first and seek reimbursement under a separate date, without a tuition deferral. Do not treat fee support or bonuses as guaranteed income: each benefit has its own rules and calendar. Request a net-cost estimate before accepting a shift.
