About Point Foundation Flagship Scholarship

Point Foundation Flagship combines financial aid with community and leadership development for LGBTQ+ and ally students. The application described on the page supports undergraduate, graduate, or professional study at accredited public or nonprofit U.S. colleges and universities. The published maximum is $15,000, with funding beginning in fall 2027 and up to four years of support. The maximum is not a guaranteed amount for every scholar.

The application opens September 9 and closes November 19, 2026 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time for funding beginning in fall 2027. Requirements include a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3, full-time enrollment in a degree-seeking program, and membership in the LGBTQ+ community or ally status. High-school seniors may apply. Fully online programs are excluded, as are certain applicants with prior employment or service relationships to the foundation.

Point’s support also includes virtual workshops, programs during the year, a summer in-person conference, and connections with scholars and alumni. Before applying, read the eligible-school definition, confirm GPA, and organize academic records and leadership responses. The foundation recommends submitting a complete application by the deadline; applying early does not provide an advantage, but waiting until the final day is risky. Use the official portal to verify every document.

To estimate the real cost, ask the school for a written calculation separating tuition, fees, housing, and expenses the award does not cover. Confirm whether aid can renew and what academic progress it requires. Keep the award letter and verify when funds will be applied to the student account.
