Samek Art Museum

Samek Art Museum connects Lewisburg's downtown with the cultural life of Bucknell University through two exhibition locations. The campus museum occupies the top floor of Elaine Langone Center at 701 Moore Avenue; the downtown gallery is at 416 Market Street. Knowing which venue holds an exhibition is essential to planning a visit.

Admission, exhibitions and programming are free and open to the public. The current visitor page lists both locations as open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with exceptions announced separately. On campus, Cosmic Harmonies: Kenneth V. Young runs from August 26 through December 6, 2026. It examines the artist's approaches to abstraction and his interest in relationships among nature, the cosmos and music, bringing together works and research on his career. Downtown, Robert Rauschenberg: No Labels is scheduled from October 17, 2026, through February 7, 2027, drawing works from the museum's own collection.

These contrasting exhibitions show why the museum rewards attention to its calendar rather than a generic description of permanent displays. Campus visitors may use public parking on Moore Avenue and Seventh Street without a Bucknell parking permit, according to the museum. Collection study-room visits require separate arrangements.
