College of Southern Nevada — Western Center

Western Center gives technical education a concrete setting in the west valley. CSN’s Air Conditioning Technology department says HVAC classes now meet at its new HVAC Center of Excellence here. The curriculum addresses installation, service, troubleshooting and repair of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems; the department lists applied-science degrees and certificates in areas such as building automation, central plants, critical systems and food-service refrigeration.

The program also prepares students for credentials including EPA Section 608 and HVAC Excellence Employment Readiness, subject to each exam’s rules. A career certificate and an associate degree differ in credits and required courses, so applicants should review the current degree sheet and ask about prerequisites, lab sequence and whether their chosen specialization meets at Western throughout the year. CSN also lists design and construction training at this high-tech center.

The current campus directory gives the address as 4701 West Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Older college materials sometimes use a different street number; use the present directory and program page when navigating. Contact the program before a visit because lab activities, course sections and public access can follow a class schedule.
