FreshStart Landscaping: landscaping for Las Vegas's extreme climate

FreshStart Landscaping is a family-owned company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that presents itself as a local team, not a big franchise. Its work focuses on designing and installing gardens adapted to the area's extreme heat, with solutions that include travertine, pavers, artificial turf, xeriscaping, and outdoor hardscape elements. The company operates with Nevada contractor license number 0092099 and states that it is insured.

The website indicates that the company works throughout the Las Vegas metropolitan area, including Henderson, Summerlin, Centennial Hills, North Las Vegas, Enterprise, Lone Mountain, Skye Canyon, Spring Valley, and Summerlin South. The company describes itself as a team led by Juan, with a presence on the job site and not just in sales.

Specialization in travertine, pavers, and artificial turf

FreshStart Landscaping's main offering is built around materials and techniques designed to withstand the high temperatures and drought of the Mojave Desert. Featured services include:

• Artificial turf installation: the company installs 70 oz or higher turf, with proper drainage systems and cool-blade technology to prevent overheating. It is promoted as suitable for children, dogs, and HOA approvals, and as a solution that saves water and reduces maintenance.
• Pavers and travertine: installation with a 6-inch compacted base, in contrast to thinner installations that, according to the company, sink after monsoon rains. Travertine is presented as a surface 20-30 °F cooler than concrete in the sun.
• Xeriscaping and desert landscaping: design with native or adapted plants such as lantana, red yucca, and agave, drip irrigation systems with sensors, and the use of gravel, rock, or flagstone as ground cover. The company states that these designs can reduce water consumption by up to 60% and comply with SNWA (Southern Nevada Water Authority) requirements.
• Natural grass removal: service to remove existing grass and replace it with low-water-use alternatives.
• Artificial turf cleaning: complete maintenance for installed synthetic turf.

Hardscaping and outdoor living spaces

In addition to surfaces, FreshStart Landscaping carries out hardscaping and outdoor design projects that turn backyards into functional extensions of the home. The service catalog includes:

• Patios and integrated seating areas for outdoor dining.
• Fire pits and fireplaces for cool evenings.
• Retaining walls for terraced gardens.
• Outdoor kitchens with BBQ islands.
• Pergolas and shade structures.
• Walkways and driveways.
• Low-energy LED outdoor lighting for safety and ambiance.

The company also performs grading and slope correction to prevent water accumulation next to the home, and installs drip irrigation systems with timers.

Work process and recognition

FreshStart Landscaping stands out for offering free estimates and clear upfront pricing, without the "call for a quote" practice. The company states that it shows up on the agreed dates and that Juan and David's team is present on the job site. For new home projects, they indicate that they can transform a dirt yard into a finished space within 7 to 10 days, including managing the paperwork for HOA approval.

As for recognition, the company states that it has received the Angi Super Service 2025 award and has a 4.9-star rating based on more than 74 Google reviews. It also identifies itself as an SNWA-approved contractor.

Service areas in the Las Vegas Valley

The company mainly serves the Las Vegas metropolitan area, with a notable presence in Henderson, Summerlin, Centennial Hills, North Las Vegas, Enterprise, Lone Mountain, Skye Canyon, Spring Valley, and Summerlin South. Its focus is on communities facing water restrictions and homeowners association regulations, so it adapts its designs to SNWA and local HOA requirements.
