Specialized Endodontics in Las Vegas

Fife & Steffen Endodontics is a clinic dedicated almost exclusively to endodontics, with particular focus on root canal treatment and complex cases. Its stated priority is to preserve natural teeth and achieve high rates of tooth survival. Since 2003, the clinic has treated more than 50,000 people.

The practice operates in two locations in Las Vegas: Summerlin and Southwest. The medical team consists of Drs. David Fife, Steffen, Richards, and Jeff Phan, all of whom are endodontic specialists.

Endodontic Treatments and Procedures

The clinic performs almost exclusively root canal treatments and other complex endodontic procedures. Among the areas it addresses are:

• Traumatic dental injuries: cracked, chipped, or fractured teeth, dislodged teeth, root fractures, and avulsed teeth

Technology: Microscope and 3D CBCT

The clinic uses state-of-the-art equipment and advanced sterilization systems. The dental microscope is a central tool in its practice: it magnifies the tooth up to 25 times, allowing the specialist to visualize small canals, fractures, and debris, and to clean them more precisely. Dr. Fife uses the microscope in 100% of his procedures, not only in difficult cases. The clinic also has cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for 3D scanning.

The Medical Team

Dr. David Fife has been practicing endodontics in Las Vegas for more than twenty years. He graduated Cum Laude from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2001 and completed a two-year specialty residency in Endodontics at the University of Florida. He opened his practice in Summerlin in 2003 and has performed more than 50,000 endodontic procedures.

Dr. Steffen completed his specialty training in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, after earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Columbia University in New York. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and one of the few endodontists in Las Vegas with this distinction. He has performed thousands of endodontic procedures.

Dr. Richards was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He studied at the University of Utah, where he earned his bachelor's degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery, and received the Excellence in Endodontics award during his postdoctoral training. He completed his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Endodontics at Boston University. He is highly trained in the use of the dental microscope in all cases and in cone beam computed tomography.

Dr. Jeff Phan is a full-time endodontist at the clinic and practices at the Southwest location. He has been practicing dentistry since 2017 and is known for his calm and steady approach to patient care. He earned his dental degree at McGill University and completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs (VA) San Diego Healthcare System. He subsequently received his specialty certificate in Endodontics from Nova Southeastern University. Before moving to Las Vegas, he practiced endodontics in Seattle.

Patient Care

The clinic describes its staff as dedicated to welcoming patients with a personal touch and making the first visit comfortable, from the initial call to the farewell. The team presents itself as available to learn about each patient's needs, problems, and fears. The practice has a relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff, with the goal of providing a stress-free experience.

Practical Information for Patients

The clinic provides new patient forms, patient instructions and forms, information on financial policy and insurance, and an appointment scheduling system. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Fridays are by appointment; Saturdays and Sundays are closed.
