About PropEd Capital

PropEd Capital, a futures prop trading firm with public rules

PropEd Capital is a prop firm specializing in futures that presents itself as a transparent alternative within the sector. Its proposal revolves around publishing all the rules of its programs —drawdown limits, consistency, targets, and position restrictions— before purchase, and a payout process whose average time is shown updated with each payout made. The firm states that its goal is for traders to get paid, not just to pass evaluation accounts.

Evaluation and instant funding programs

The company structures access to capital through two routes that converge into the same review path for live trading. The first is the evaluation, with plans that use targets, drawdown, consistency, and position limits defined in the active catalog. The second is instant funding, with balances, drawdown, consistency, payout, and position rules of their own, also defined in the catalog. Among the visible plans are Evaluation Standard Eval, Evaluation One Plan, Evaluation TrueRisk Eval, Funded Instant Funded, and Funded TrueRisk Instant Funded, with starting prices ranging from $109 (81.75 with discount) to $1,095, depending on the plan. The catalog shows four active options in Standard Eval, one in One Plan, four in TrueRisk Eval, three in Instant Funded, and four in TrueRisk Instant Funded. The firm warns that availability and account rules may change, so it refers to reviewing the selected plan before payment.

Drawdown, consistency, and position limits

The plans differ, among other aspects, by the type of drawdown: TrueRisk programs use a static drawdown, while the rest of the plans use a catalog-defined drawdown. The firm specifies that the drawdown is end-of-day only (EOD-only) and that it does not apply a daily loss limit. The drawdown details of each plan can be consulted in the catalog before checkout. Consistency and position limits are also part of the published rules and are confirmed before purchase.

Payout Wallet and payout process

PropEd Capital has introduced a Payout Wallet in which approved payouts become credits: one credit equals one dollar. Credits can be spent on any product in the store with an additional 15% discount on top of any other discount, or withdrawn through Rise, Wise, or USDC. The firm states that clean requests are approved automatically and that credits are credited at the time of approval. Withdrawals have a 3.5% fee and a minimum of $250, and are processed by the payouts team. Credits do not expire and every movement is recorded in a tamper-proof ledger visible in the wallet. The company clarifies that credits only come from approved payouts and that it does not sell credits.

Platforms, data, and technology

Trading is done on three platforms: Onyx, Nexus Connect, and Volumetrica, each connected to a professional real-time market data feed: Rithmic, dxFeed, and Nexus Connect, respectively. Onyx is the firm's own web environment, developed with TradingView's charting and brokerage API, and includes one-click order entry, built-in copy trading, drag-and-drop stop loss and take profit, and automatic risk controls, at no extra cost and no downloads. All PropEd accounts run on Rithmic's infrastructure, with direct synchronization of balance, P&L, and drawdown from its feeds in a simulated paper trading environment. The platform runs on AWS Aurora Serverless v2 and ECS Fargate, which allows deploying changes without interruptions. Paytiko is the payment technology partner, connecting traders with options such as cards, bank transfers, and cryptocurrencies.

Live accounts and balance multiplier

Once the move to live is approved, the starting balance is based on the account size that qualified the trader and is multiplied by the number of sim-funded accounts with at least one payout at the time of the fourth payout, capped at $10,000. As an example, the firm shows that a $50,000 account with TrueRisk of $2,500 can result in a live balance of $3,000 with one account, $6,000 with two, $9,000 with three, and $10,000 with four (cap). The live account is a sub-account through Ironbeam and requires signing a specific agreement. You cannot maintain a sim-funded account while you have a live account open. If the trader does not pass the risk review to trade live, they must restart the process from the beginning of the evaluation path.

Team and origin

The firm was founded by Ethan Warmuskerken, who serves as founder and managing director. Warmuskerken combines his background in quantitative finance and algorithmic trading with the goal of building a prop trading model based on transparency and long-term trader development. He holds a master's degree in financial mathematics and has led large-scale risk and analytics initiatives in the financial industry. He lives in Michigan. The team includes leads for R&D, operations, finance, development, support, and Discord management.

Education and resources for traders

In addition to funding programs, PropEd Capital offers educational packages, events, indicators, and videos, as well as a blog and a guide on futures prop trading firms. The firm also has an affiliate program. In its communication, it emphasizes that evaluation programs are simulated and for educational purposes only, that it does not offer brokerage or investment services, and that no real funds are traded during the evaluation process.
