About Lancaster County Community Foundation General Scholarships

The Lancaster County Community Foundation pools donor funds for high-school and college students who live in the county or graduated from a local high school. The 2027–28 cycle opens November 2, 2026, and supports accredited two- or four-year colleges, community colleges, technical programs, and vocational training. This is not one single scholarship; the application can match students to donor funds with individual criteria.

The general published range is typically $400 to $10,000, with some one-time and some renewable awards. Individual funds may be tied to majors or colleges, set age limits, consider financial need, or request tax documentation; local residence does not make every student eligible for every fund. The Foundation and Scholarship America administer the portal and review academic record, leadership, activities, work, circumstances, and need.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on February 22, 2027; the Foundation says it cannot extend the deadline. Prepare transcripts, activities, work history, essays, income information, and, when required, a FAFSA Submission Summary before opening the portal. An incomplete response or late recommendation can disqualify a student even if the other rules are met.

Some awards pay once and others allow students to reapply for multiple years; funds are sent to the educational institution rather than paid as unrestricted cash. The Foundation says some awards may qualify for Pennsylvania’s PATH matching program, but students do not apply for that match separately. Check each listing for renewal, school accreditation, and required records before including an amount in your budget.
