Kenmore Development: apartment and commercial space rentals in Western New York

Kenmore Development is a company that owns and manages apartment communities and commercial properties in the Western New York area. Its activity extends from the Elmwood District in Buffalo to Niagara Falls, with a presence also in Kenmore, Town of Tonawanda, City of Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, and Sanborn.

The company has been operating since 1970. According to its own presentation, it began with a single double and has grown to manage a portfolio of 20 properties comprising 1,100 apartments and 100,000 square feet of commercial space.

Rental housing by area

The apartment catalog is organized by location. In North Buffalo and Buffalo-Parkside are Delaware Park Apartments, Tudor Gardens Townhouses, and Main Jewett Apartments. In Kenmore are Kendev Studios, Sheridan Manor Apartments, Tremont Place Apartments, Ralston Elmwood Apartments, Fowler Apartments, and The Hazeltine Apartments. In Town of Tonawanda is Sheridan Residence; in City of Tonawanda, Riverview Manor Apartments; in North Tonawanda, Gateway Park Apartments and Witmer Road Apartments; in Niagara Falls, Niagara Apartments, Niagara II Apartments, and LaSalle West Apartments; and in Sanborn, Sanborn Meadow Apartments.

The offering includes studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, with sizes ranging from 250 square feet at Gateway Park Apartments to 850 square feet at Delaware Park Apartments and Tudor Gardens Townhouses. Prices published at the time of analysis start at $721 at Niagara II Apartments and reach $1,574 at Tudor Gardens Townhouses.

Commercial properties and storage

In addition to residential rentals, the company manages commercial, office, work, and storage spaces. These include Eberhardt Mansion in Kenmore; Clinton Commerce Center in Tonawanda; Gateway Center Storage in North Tonawanda; and Absolute Storage in Kenmore.

Resident services and projects

Kenmore Development maintains a resident services section and an FAQ section. Among the news announced is the opening of a dog park at The Delaware Park Apartments, with natural grass and fully fenced, reserved for residents.

The company has also developed its own projects. In 2015 it completed its first condo conversion at the former West Ferry Place Apartments in the City of Buffalo. In 2017 it opened KenDev Realty to expand into residential real estate sales. In 2018 it acquired the former Clint Small athletic field in City of Tonawanda, whose development was in its initial stages. That same year it launched its first large rooftop solar array at the Gateway Park property in North Tonawanda and announced a second such installation in City of Tonawanda.
