Metropolitan Community College — Penn Valley Campus

Penn Valley is at 3201 Southwest Trafficway, in Midtown Kansas City. Its map names the Enrollment Center, learning-resource buildings, library, gym and other academic spaces; the student-services address is not a substitute for checking where a particular class meets. The separate Health Science Institute and Advanced Technical Skills Institute have their own profiles and street addresses.

This campus offers a wide mix of transfer, liberal-arts, business and technical study, and it is the in-person base for MCC’s credit-bearing English as a Second Language program. ESL students take a placement test before entry; MCC says the first test is free, can take two to three hours, and requires a government photo ID or passport. Class formats and levels vary by term, with live virtual sections when the schedule lists them.

The campus has a library and learning center, fitness facilities, food pantry, café, advising and tutoring. Students park free with an MCC sticker, and the official map marks a parking garage as well as accessible spaces. RideKC’s Route 31 is identified as serving Penn Valley; use the current timetable or trip planner before setting out.

Public accounts about Penn Valley range from positive descriptions of learning to complaints about administrative follow-up and particular program experiences. A useful first call is to the office responsible for the intended credential or ESL placement, especially if you need to confirm testing, prerequisites or which building to visit.
