About Mid-America Regional Council — Aging and Adult Services
The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is a regional starting point for older residents of Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray counties in Missouri. Its Aging and Adult Services team coordinates community services and connects people with public, private, volunteer, and corporate providers. Call the Information and Referral team at 816-421-4980 or 800-593-7948; MARC describes the conversation as free and confidential. Its office is at 600 Broadway Boulevard, Suite 200, Kansas City.
MARC can help locate home-delivered or group meals, rides to appointments, homemaking and personal services, caregiver support, Medicare counselling, and long-term-care ombudsman services. Coordination is different from direct provision: MARC may identify and refer a service, while another organization screens and delivers it. The program directory helps callers explore categories, but availability, contributions, and eligibility must be confirmed with the provider named in the referral.
MARC’s jurisdiction is not the same as Kansas City city: it covers five Missouri counties and should not be treated as the sole resource for someone living in Kansas. When calling, provide the municipality and ZIP code, age, mobility, health coverage, and whether help is one-time or ongoing. Ask about waiting lists, documents, and follow-up. For Johnson County, Kansas, contact the appropriate Kansas agency; MARC’s official social channels carry regional updates, while the referral line can point callers toward the right local program.
Free, confidential regional guidance on meals, transportation, caregivers, in-home services, and public or private resources across five Missouri counties.
