The current state table sets GPAs of 3.5 for Level 1, 3.0 for Level 2, and 2.5 for Level 3, or alternative ACT, SAT, or WorkKeys scores listed by ACPE. The high school or district reports academic eligibility; private-school and some homeschool students must request a separate determination. To receive funds, file the FAFSA by June 30 for the award year—or the alternative application if attending a non-Title IV school—and list a participating Alaska institution.

APS is applied after other gift aid and cannot exceed eligible education costs left uncovered; students need at least $500 in remaining need, and the institution certifies enrollment. Full-time use and renewal require credits and academic progress: for example, the first year requires 24 credits for full-time students and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5; later years generally require 30 credits. Verify that your technical program and campus appear on the state list and monitor ASAP, because high-school eligibility does not mean a bill has already been paid.
