About Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant

Fast Track serves Missouri adults returning to school or moving toward an in-demand field. Not having earned a bachelor’s degree is a central condition; applicants generally must also be at least 25 or have been out of school for two years. The program may support certificates, degrees, industry credentials, and certain apprenticeship costs, but only within approved lists.

State review considers Missouri residency, citizenship or eligible status, income limits, FAFSA when applicable, minimum enrollment, and an approved program. Fast Track coordinates with other government grants to cover remaining tuition and fees rather than automatically paying the entire cost of attendance. Approved apprenticeships may include required tools, books, or uniforms. The portal may show a prior-year rate table: for 2026–27, confirm your calculation against the current award-year terms, not old figures.

The 2026–27 application is open through May 15, 2027. The department requires FAFSA and an electronic application through the State Financial Aid Portal. Before starting, find your institution and program in the approved directory and ask for an income and credit review. Renewal requires minimum academic progress. Request an itemized cost list because the grant does not automatically make transportation, housing, or personal expenses eligible.
