About Sporting JAX Soccer Academy — Recreational Development Academy
Sporting JAX’s Recreational Development Academy is intended for a player who has outgrown an introductory league but is not yet ready—or does not want—to enter a full competitive travel structure. The club describes RDA as a bridge: players need previous soccer experience and a general understanding of rules and game play. For 2026–27 it serves boys U9–U14 and girls U9–U12. Teams are formed after an evaluation period, with age-appropriate formats from 7v7 to 11v11, two training sessions each week and 8–10 games in both fall and spring.
The academy rotates across local parks. Its published schedule includes Rogers Park in Mandarin, Earl Johnson Park in San Marco and Veterans Park in St. Johns County; the club also posts other regional locations by season. The current full-season fee is $975 at Rogers and Earl Johnson or $1,100 at Veterans and Chuck Rogers, with payment plans available. A new player’s uniform kit is listed at $248.40, while tournaments may create additional team charges. The exact practice nights are listed by age and park, so parents should use the current schedule rather than assume every team meets at the program’s mailing address.
The academy sits within the broader Sporting JAX organization, which now operates a women’s Division I professional team and a men’s USL Championship side. That relationship gives the local soccer conversation a visible youth-to-professional context, but RDA is a developmental youth league and does not promise a professional placement. Before signing up, ask what the evaluation measures, which team level fits the player, whether space remains in the relevant age band, and what expenses will be due beyond the published club fee.
