About Jacksonville FC
Jacksonville FC’s broad age range makes it a central local option for families looking for more than one kind of soccer season. The nonprofit club serves boys and girls from age 4 through 19. Its First Touch Academy gives 4- and 5-year-olds one or two practices and a Saturday game; Jr. Academy, for ages 6–8, adds twice-weekly coached training; recreation continues across youth ages, while competitive teams for ages 8–19 enter local, regional and national play. The difference in practice load and travel is substantial, so a family should compare a recreational roster with the exact competitive team being offered.
Patton Park, at 2850 Hodges Boulevard, is the club’s primary base. Jacksonville FC also names Davis Park in Ponte Vedra as a main practice location and uses Ed Austin Regional Park for some team sessions. The City describes Patton as a 120-acre soccer facility with 12 year-round fields, concessions, restrooms and paved parking; the county park pages show that Davis and Ed Austin are separate public facilities with their own field schedules. Those sites serve different corners of a large metropolitan area, so the team calendar—not the club mailing address—should determine the route for a weekday practice or weekend match.
Jacksonville now has a first-division professional women’s team: Sporting JAX plays in the U.S. Soccer Division I-sanctioned Gainbridge Super League. The men’s Sporting JAX side competes in USL Championship, a different tier. Jacksonville FC is a separate nonprofit youth club; its public site lists college commitments but does not promise a professional route. For a family, the useful next step is to ask which program has space, how many weekly practices it requires, what the club fee includes, and which tournament, travel, uniform or team expenses are billed separately.
