CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions
CICOA is the Area Agency on Aging for Marion and seven other central Indiana counties. Its ADRC provides free guidance; programs include care management, caregiver support, meals, transportation, home modifications, and in-home assistance, subject to program rules, assessment, and availability.
About CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions
CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions is Indiana’s designated Area Agency on Aging for Area 8: Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, and Shelby counties. For Indianapolis residents, it is a starting point for aging, disability, and family-care guidance, and it coordinates several community services.
The Resource Center can be reached at (317) 803-6131 or (800) 432-2422. CICOA describes the initial conversation as free and can help callers understand long-term care options, find programs, and learn which assessment applies. First contact does not grant Medicaid or guarantee funded services; Indiana CHOICE and federal benefits have their own rules and funding limits.
Meals & More includes home-delivered frozen meals for people age 60 and older who live in Marion and nearby counties, are homebound and unable to prepare food safely, have limited mobility, or lack adequate support. CICOA also coordinates neighborhood meal sites and a Dine Dollars option for active older adults. Each format has its own enrollment, service area, and contribution rules.
The organization also offers caregiver guidance, home-safety modifications, care management, and transportation options. CICOA asks callers to reserve for neighborhood meals; for the Resource Center, have the ZIP code, a description of daily tasks that have become difficult, and health coverage ready. Its administrative office is at 8440 Woodfield Crossing Boulevard, Suite 175.
CICOA covers eight counties, so an Indianapolis family can receive regional referrals rather than only city programs. Ask whether the address is within the service area, whether a waitlist applies, and whether a copayment or home assessment is required. For a medical emergency, call 911; for suspected abuse or neglect, use Indiana’s official Adult Protective Services route.
