LeafFilter: Stainless Steel Micromesh Gutter Protection

LeafFilter North, LLC is an American company dedicated to gutter protection for homes. Its main product, LeafFilter Gutter Protection, is installed over existing gutters and combines a surgical-grade stainless steel micromesh with a uPVC frame and hidden structural supports. The company presents itself as the third-largest remodeler in the United States and claims to have more than 75,000 customer reviews.

The Patented Three-Piece System

The LeafFilter system consists of three elements: a surgical-grade stainless steel micromesh with a thickness of 275 microns, a uPVC frame with built-in pitch, and hidden internal supports that attach to the fascia board. According to the company, the micromesh retains leaves, twigs, pollen, dirt, and shingle granules, while the integrated pitch facilitates debris runoff. The system is presented as sealed and capable of withstanding the weight of sticks and branches, as well as resisting pests.

Operation and Water Management

The system leverages surface tension: when water flows over the micromesh, it is drawn into the gutter. The built-in pitch allows debris to slide off while water is admitted. The company states that, with professional installation, the system prevents debris from entering or clogging the gutter interior, and that it will correct under warranty any installation errors that could cause clogs.

Warranty and Recognition

LeafFilter offers a transferable lifetime warranty that, according to its presentation, protects the gutters and the entire home. The company cites a 2010 study conducted by a consumer reporting agency, which after 16 months of outdoor testing recognized LeafFilter as the highest-rated professionally installed gutter protection system in the United States. It also presents itself as a preferred partner since 2014 and notes that its products are assembled in the United States.
