Houston City College — Northwest College

HCC Northwest began with classes in the Cy-Fair area in 1976 and now serves Alief, Katy, Spring Branch and parts of the Houston district from five west-side locations. Its centers of excellence focus on engineering, media, visual and performing arts, while the college also offers business, digital technology, workforce training and transfer courses. The range allows students to start locally, but a program may use more than one Northwest site.

Alief Hayes and Alief Bissonnet serve western Houston; Spring Branch and Katy place instruction closer to those suburban communities. The West Houston Institute at the Hayes address is a separate instructional and innovation facility, so check which building appears in the class schedule. HCC Northwest describes more than 60 programs across its network, and its advising and tutoring resources can help map prerequisites and transfer courses. Selective health programs may belong to another HCC college and require a different application.

The official contact list gives each site’s address and phone. HCC’s broader campus directory identifies the locations, but course offerings and office hours vary by term. Use the individual campus page to confirm whether the program’s labs, tutoring center or student services are available at the address you plan to visit. Check METRO service for the exact destination and leave time for the drive between campuses if your schedule combines locations.
