Houston City College — Coleman College for Health Sciences

Coleman College for Health Sciences opened in 2004 and concentrates HCC’s health-care education in the Texas Medical Center. It offers associate degrees and certificates in more than 20 clinical and allied-health fields, including nursing, patient care and therapeutic services. The building is designed around instruction and practice: students move between classrooms, simulation and laboratory spaces, while the college connects training to the surrounding medical institutions.

The Medical Center campus is the primary site for selective programs and clinical preparation. Coleman College at Midtown gives students another starting point: it offers prerequisite courses such as English, algebra and medical terminology during evenings and weekends, and some short health-care credentials. A learner can begin with foundational courses there and later continue at the Medical Center, but each program sets its own application sequence, entrance tests and required campus. Check the course plan carefully before assuming the full credential meets at one address.

Coleman lists two locations: 1900 Pressler Street in the Medical Center and 3100 Main Street in Midtown. Its Medical Center parking instructions describe contract parking in designated TMC lots or a park-and-ride option from HCC Central, then METRORail to the TMC Transit Center. Verify parking authorization and rail service before traveling. The college’s academic and clinical programs may use different spaces, so follow the room and building on the current schedule rather than relying on a general campus address.
