About Windward Community College — Main Campus
Windward Community College serves Kāneʻohe and Oʻahu’s Koʻolau region from a single main campus at 45-720 Keaʻahala Road. The 2026–27 catalog describes a college that combines transfer education with programs shaped by Hawaiʻi’s land, culture and workforce: associate degrees in liberal arts, Hawaiian studies and natural science, plus veterinary technology, agriculture, mental-health training, creative media, sustainability and short workforce certificates. The campus map identifies an observatory, theatre and gallery, gardens, a child-care center, library and student support spaces; the result is a compact campus with specialized facilities rather than a large multi-campus district.
Admission begins with the UH system application, followed by the college’s eligibility, transcript and registration steps. The catalog lists admission and degree requirements; students should meet an academic counselor to build a transfer plan or confirm prerequisites in a career program. An AA transfer degree is generally a 60-credit pathway, while Windward describes certificates of achievement as 24–51 credits and certificates of competence as 4–23 credits. Actual time varies with course availability and a student’s pace. Start the UH application and consult the 2026–27 program catalog.
Windward’s tuition page publishes $131 per credit for residents and $345 for nonresidents for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, plus student activity, student government and publication charges. The FAFSA school code is 010390. Financial aid can include federal and state grants, scholarships, loans and student employment; awards require eligibility and an annual application. Hawaiʻi Promise is an additional state program for qualifying students at UH community colleges. The college’s aid catalog gives the eligible credential types and academic-progress rules. Check current tuition and Windward financial aid before estimating a net cost.
Windward does not advertise a separate intensive English program on the current pages reviewed. It does provide an English placement route through EdReady to help place learners into the appropriate UHCC English or ESL course. That is a placement and course-readiness tool, not a promise of stand-alone English classes at the campus. Students who need language support should contact advising and ask which English or ESL course will be offered in the next term, whether it carries credits and how it fits into the target credential. Read the placement guide before choosing classes.
The main campus is reached from Honolulu over the Likelike or Pali routes, and TheBus route 61 serves the college; route 60 or 65 can connect through Windward Mall according to the college’s directions. Marked on-campus parking is free, with an overflow area if needed. Before setting out, check the road and bus conditions for the day, then use the campus map to locate the building or service. This is Windward’s main and only college campus identified in the current catalog; the separate Career and Community Education programs may offer noncredit training but do not constitute another degree campus.
The Koʻolau region’s public two-year college campus, known for liberal arts, Hawaiian studies, natural sciences, veterinary technology and small-scale learning spaces.
