Hollywood FC

Hollywood FC has several entry points rather than one academy timetable. For 2026–27 it lists a preschool program for ages two and three that meets once a week; recreational teams with no tryouts and playing time for all registered players; an academy that trains without games; and Elite, Premier and Select competitive tiers requiring a tryout or evaluation and invitation. The club says it began in 1985 and now fields more than 50 teams and 800 players. Those figures are the organization’s own description; ask whether a place is available for the child’s birth year.

The fee menu is unusually specific. Recreational soccer is $660 per season; training-only academy is $145 per month. Elite and Premier list $1,900 paid in full, $2,000 quarterly or $2,100 monthly; Select lists $1,400, $1,500 or $1,600 on those payment schedules. Competitive team charges for referees and tournaments, plus required uniforms, are extra. These are different pathways: a beginner should not be steered into a selective tier just because it includes more competition. Request the full team cost, length of commitment, refund terms and release rules in writing.

The club lists Boggs Field at 2310 N 23rd Avenue and Dowdy Fields at 2161 Johnson Street. The nearby Boggs Soccer Shop handles parent support, uniform fittings and equipment; the club says its performance gym supports strength, conditioning, recovery and injury prevention. The City lists public park amenities such as restrooms, playground, concession and parking, while the club assigns teams and the City controls field status. Hollywood West Park is identified for camps only. Confirm which field serves the child’s team before driving.

Public comments describe coaches as knowledgeable and some families say children enjoyed playing. Other, more recent comments raise concerns about contracts, financial obligations, placement and the process for leaving. That range deserves a practical response: ask for team-specific written costs, refund and release conditions, and the way placement concerns are handled. It is a long-established club with multiple levels, but the right fit depends on age, experience and the agreement a family is comfortable accepting.
