About Skyline Lodge
Skyline Lodge offers a different Highlands stay from a hotel directly on Main Street. Its Skyline Lodge Road location gives the property a larger role in the itinerary, with trips into downtown requiring planning. Rooms, an outdoor courtyard, gathering areas and dining form the core of the experience.
The owner identifies Arthur Kelsey as the architect of the historic building and describes his professional connection with Frank Lloyd Wright. That association does not make Skyline a Wright design. The official history describes several building and reopening phases and confirms a substantial renovation completed in 2021. Its differing historical dates do not justify assigning one definitive founding year.
The current facilities include patios, outdoor fire pits, indoor fireplaces and parking. These are features of the property, not a guarantee of private amenities in every room. Oak Steakhouse occupies the second floor and adds a dining reason to spend an evening at the lodge.
Skyline suits travelers who want to alternate excursions with time at their accommodation. Compare room layouts and outlooks, and book dinner separately if it is central to the stay.
