About Guilford Technical Community College — High Point Campus

GTCC’s High Point Campus began in 1981 and now has eight buildings over 16 acres. Its academic mix includes accounting, computer technology, early-childhood education, human services, medical-assistant training, pharmacy technology, phlebotomy and nursing-assistant classes, plus Associate of Arts, Science and Fine Arts options.

The campus is especially known for the Larry Gatlin School of Entertainment Technology. GTCC describes a studio and specialist lighting, sound and music labs where students train for work in recording, live events and music production. A separate Center for Creative and Performing Arts provides a small black-box theatre, a concert-production studio and an outdoor amphitheater for student performances and community events.

High Point is also one of two GTCC locations offering adult ESOL classes. Intake and English assessment take place through the Adult Education office in building H3; the college lists free classes at multiple levels. The campus address is 901 S. Main Street. Free student parking permits are required, and students should check the campus map for building-specific destinations and current bus connections.
