Community Foundation of the Verdugos Scholarships

The Community Foundation of the Verdugos administers donor-created scholarships for students in Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada-Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose, and Verdugo City. The 2027–28 application opens November 30, 2026, and closes March 1, 2027. Awards may support community college, a four-year university, or U.S. career and technical training.

There is no single eligibility rule for the entire pool. Each fund follows criteria set by its donors, which may prioritize a school, field, personal circumstance, or academic profile. Review available awards before beginning the form and do not treat residence in the area as a guarantee; the Foundation may verify fund-specific conditions before selection.

Awards are not paid as unrestricted checks to students: the Foundation sends them to the school and asks for enrollment verification and the institution’s financial-aid letter. The page says recipients are expected to be notified by May 3, 2027. Keep admission and cost information available so you can respond when results are announced.

The Foundation says committee decisions are final and follow each donor’s criteria. If selected, confirm with the school how the amount is credited, whether it changes other aid, and what happens if enrollment or the institution changes. This guide identifies the regional application and process, but each scholarship listing controls eligibility, amount, and documents.
