Wood Ranger

Wood Ranger: 24V cordless garden tools

Wood Ranger is a cordless garden tool brand that sells its products under the WOODRANGER® name. Its catalog is built around five main tools, all powered by 24V lithium-ion batteries, designed for pruning, trimming, clearing and outdoor cleanup. The company claims more than 100,000 customers and an average five-star rating, based on the testimonials it publishes on its own site.

Tool catalog

Wood Ranger's offering consists of five cordless tools, each aimed at a specific garden and outdoor maintenance task:

• Mini Chainsaws: equipped with a 4-inch guide bar, they cut logs up to 4 inches. They weigh 1.76 lb and are designed for one-handed use, with up to 45 minutes of cutting per charge.
• Power Shears: feature heat-treated SK5 steel blades and cut branches up to 1.2 inches (30 mm). They provide two to three hours of pruning per charge.
• Hedge Trimmers: have a 90° rotating head and two tool-free interchangeable SK5 steel blades. They provide two to three hours of trimming per charge.
• Trimmer Kit: includes interchangeable cutting heads and, according to the company, 5× faster trimming, mounted on a steel pole light enough to handle all day long.
• Leaf Blower: generates 55,000 RPM of airflow and is used to remove leaves, dust and debris from driveways, patios and car interiors. It has a dynamic trigger that adjusts power from gentle blowing to maximum airflow.

The catalog is completed with accessories and spare parts: mini chainsaw chains, 100 ml high-performance lubricant, tool-specific batteries, replacement blades for power shears and hedge trimmers, and metal and plastic blades for the trimmer.

Common features across the range

All Wood Ranger tools share a series of technical features that the company highlights as differentiators from gas tools. They run on rechargeable 24V lithium-ion batteries, eliminating the need to mix fuel or drag extension cords. They require no combustion engine, spark plugs or oil changes, and produce no exhaust fumes. They are designed for one-handed use and to reach tight corners and awkward angles. The company also emphasizes that they are quiet enough to use early in the morning.

Batteries are supplied per tool and are not interchangeable across the entire range, so replacements are identified by the name of the corresponding tool. Runtime varies by model: up to 45 minutes on the mini chainsaw, two to three hours on the power shears and hedge trimmer, one to two hours on the trimmer kit, and approximately 15 minutes on the leaf blower.

Warranty, shipping and customer service

Wood Ranger backs every purchase with a 90-day money-back guarantee: users can test the tool on a real job and, if it does not meet their expectations, return it. The company offers fast shipping within the United States and presents itself as US owned and operated. Customer service responds seven days a week; the support email has an estimated response time of 24 hours during working hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the support phone line is available during the same hours.
