About Broward College at the YMCA / L.A. Lee–Mizell Community Center
Broward College at the YMCA is a community partnership site on the fourth floor of the L.A. Lee–Mizell Community Center in Fort Lauderdale’s Sistrunk area. The college opened the location to bring job-readiness training and workforce education closer to residents, connecting instruction with the broader Broward UP initiative. It is best understood as a neighborhood learning hub rather than one of Broward’s three main campuses.
Broward’s Adult and Community Education program lists short, noncredit courses and training in fields that include business, healthcare, information technology and supply chain. Its current course pages describe eligibility, orientation and schedules; the Spring 2026 continuing-education brochure identifies the YMCA as an off-site location and places in-person orientation there. Grant-supported offerings can be free for eligible Broward County residents, with conditions set by each program.
The published address is 1409 NW 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale. Check the current ACE course listing for the actual class location, dates and enrollment requirements before visiting: programs can use more than one community site, and schedules change. The college’s article about the opening documents the partnership and the fourth-floor learning space. Institutional social channels are the official route for Broward-wide announcements.
