Broward College — Willis Holcombe Center

The Willis Holcombe Center puts Broward College in downtown Fort Lauderdale, a few blocks from the Las Olas business and civic district. Its most clearly documented student resource is the Academic Success Center on the fourth floor of Building 33. Registered students can find English, mathematics and science tutoring, computer stations, quiet study areas and small rooms for individual or group work. The center’s published schedule gives weekday hours, though students should check for term changes before making a trip.

For a student who lives or works near downtown, this center offers an alternative to a drive out to Davie or Pembroke Pines for academic support. It is especially practical between classes: tutoring, math and reading lab resources, and study space are concentrated in the same building. It is still important to check the current class schedule for the location of a degree course, since the center’s downtown service role does not mean every Broward program meets here.

The college publishes 111 East Las Olas Boulevard as the address. Broward’s parking page describes an arrangement with the City of Fort Lauderdale for designated floors and areas of the garage at 150 SE 2nd Street; a valid college permit is required, and city-garage issues are handled by the city parking authority. The BCT destination list shows several bus routes serving the downtown college/FAU area.
