Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rosenbaum House

The Rosenbaum House gives Florence an unusually direct encounter with Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian design. Built for Stanley and Mildred Rosenbaum in 1939–40, it was their family's home before the city acquired it in 1999. Cypress, brick, glass, original furniture and a later addition let visitors study a lived-in architectural idea rather than a general collection of Wright images.

Access is by guided tour. The house publishes tours Tuesday through Sunday, with different Sunday hours and a final tour no later than 3:15 p.m. The admissions and gift shop are across the street from the house. Groups of ten or more need reservations; smaller parties are told they do not need to reserve. A visitor interested in accessibility should call the museum about the particular tour route before arrival.

The 2026 holiday list is relevant for plans made toward the end of the year: November 11, November 26–27 and December 24–25 are closure dates. Its calendar also lists January 1, 2027. Avoid relying on an undated travel article that says simply 'open year-round' without those exceptions.

The house is at 601 Riverview Drive, apart from North Court Street's dining area. The official site gives the direct visitor phone and tour price. It is best approached as a focused architectural visit: take time to notice how rooms, glazing and landscape relate, then use the rest of Florence for the wider Shoals story.
